'Goldfinch' watercolour original painting, as featured in the month of January in my 2022 calendar.

This is a limited edition of 1, painted by myself Chloé Bruce using Winsor & Newton watercolour paints on 220gsm smooth paper stock, small additional details added with a white Gelly Roll gel pen. Along with a subtle white signature, the painting is mounted in a 10" x 8" which enhances the colours of the bird allowing it to be the main focus once framed.

All original paintings come with a certificate of authenticity signed by myself. None of the paintings will be reproduced, but there will be a limited number of 25 prints, and greetings cards produced with the artwork.

This painting was painted live on Twitch in 2021 and took me roughly 10-14 hours to paint, using a layered approach and a 0000 Winsor & Newton round paintbrush for most of the work, allowing me to get as much detail into the birds as I possibly could.

  • Ensure your painting lasts a lifetime

Watercolour paintings can last a lifetime and give you many years of enjoyment. However, it’s quite a delicate medium so here are some tips on how to care for your paintings to ensure they stay in the best possible condition.

If you purchase an original painting from me, it will be 100% hand-painted, and heavily-worked in watercolour paint, it must be handled with great care until framed.

I recommend leaving your painting safe inside the envelope until it is ready to be framed. This will help prevent fading and creases. Avoid placing anything on top of the painting.

Take care if you are framing your painting yourself, try not to handle the paper too much.

It is important that you hang your painting in an area that is not subject to high humidity, such as bathrooms, or in direct sunlight, which may lead to premature fading of the paint.
