Autumn Leaves Watercolour Class
Join Chloe for a class where you will use watercolour paints to create Beautiful painting aimed at focussing on your wellbeing
Time & Location
19 Oct 2023, 10:00 – 12:00
Portchester Community Centre, Westlands Grove, Portchester, Fareham PO16 9AD, UK
About the event
This Class will run for 2 hours from 10-12 during which time we will be using templates of leaves to draw around and layer on an A3 sheet of watercolour paper. We will create a Beautiful Autumnal Painting with the colours of your choice, layering washes as we go and drying in-between. This will be a very therapeutic class allowing your creativity to flow as you blend and mix colours to create your final piece.
Working with a limited palette can be surprisingly rewarding as well as calming, it means you don’t need to make any more ley decisions once you have selected your colour pairing. You can choose two harmonious colours such as yellow and blue or complementary colours (opposite sides of the colour wheel) reds and oranges will give a more vibrant hot painting.
The process of methodically building up the layer of paint, once you have established a rhythm, can be exciting and surprising.
Be patient between stages as the paper must be dry before you move on.
I will have pre-cut templates of leaves I collected in Staunton Country Park, the rest is up to you, layer and place these templates, draw around them and leave negative space for dramatic effects.
What you need: All materials needed to get you started are included, however, if you do have your own paints and brushes you can bring these to use in class. This includes aprons if you have one you wish to use in class.
